Low head power plants
Low head power plants do not use reservoirs like high head power plants.
They are used in regions where the water elevation is low. These plants are built in rivers and have a dam with a height of up to 25 meters.

The disadvantage of these power plants is that they cannot store the water as high head power plants can. They also depend on the weather. For example in summer a river does not carry as much water as in spring.
