All the pictures I took during the fireworks festival Flammende Sterne are now available at:

Today was the last day of the fireworks festival Flammende Sterne. Today’s
fireworks were from Germany and they looked something like this:
Tonight the fireworks were from Taiwan and I have made more pictures:
The thumbnails for these pictures have been created with following commandline:
for i in *jpg; do convert $i -resize 150 -bordercolor white -border 1 -bordercolor black -border 1 -background black \( +clone -shadow 80x1+1+1 \) +swap -background white -flatten tn/$i; done.
The trick how to create a border during thumbnail creation with convert is courtesy of Alex.
Tonight were the first fireworks from the three day fireworks festival at the place where I live. Tonight were fireworks from Sweden and I tried to take some pictures:
After over two weeks in Korcula we arrived this night in Zagreb and here I have the first time WLAN access during this holiday.
I quickly glanced over my inbox and have over 2000 new mails in addition to
the mails from mailing lists which are automatically sorted. I already deleted
over 500 mails but all the others I still have to look at.
Again we tried to track as much of our movements with GPS and I will post
the tracks here once I am home again.
Starting tomorrow very early in the morning I will be on vacation for over two weeks in Croatia.
We will be staying for two weeks on Korcula and on our way back we will visit
my relatives in Zagreb. I hope I can track my route via GPS just like the last
time.
Start of August is probably the wrong time to write about snowboarding, but
today I read on a Burton shirt Rider Owned, Rider Driven and this sounds really
convincing to me. Usually I try to stay away from that brand because with
Burton you also pay for the name and you can also get better or the same quality
from other brands. Of course I have also equipment from them. My snowboard boots are for
example over 10 years old and I still do not need new ones. So you usually get
what you pay for. Nevertheless I try to stay away from Burton.
But reading Rider Owned, Rider Driven just sounds right. It might
only be a marketing slogan but it is a really good one which totally convinced
me. I will still not buy more from them because my local snowboard dealer does
not sell anything from them, but I now have a much better opinion about them.
