So it is finally possible to buy the board I have been working on the last year. You can buy Bimini, which is now called PowerStation from Terrasoft. If you are one of those crazy PowerPC users and want to buy a new 970MP based workstation this is probably the best you can get right now.
I have never seen a completely assembled system (I have only access to boards which are lying directly on the desk), but I was told it should actually be quiet enough to be used as a deskside workstation. It comes even with open sourced firmware.
