Here We Go Again

Just like last year I had to do some snowboard maintenance for the new snowboard season which will start in a few days. As every year we will go to the glaciers in Sölden in a few days.

In addition to the usual waxing and edge sharpening Jennifer’s board had a deep scratch which has been removed in the same way it has been done with my board.

Finally, after two years thinking about it, I did it. I bought myself a freestyle board. My old board is a freeride only board and freeride is what I am still most interested in, but for the early trips to the mountains when there is still not so much snow I hope I will enjoy my Falconoid. According to Amplid’s website this year’s Falconoid (2009) has following cool sounding features:

  • P10 SUPERLIGHT WOOD CORE
  • MAGMA EDGE SHOCK ABSORBER
  • 360° WRAP AROUND STEEL EDGE
  • 4×2 INSERT PATTERN
  • T.P.U. SPIN TIPS
  • DOOMSDAY CAMBER
  • GLASSFIBER IMPACT BIAX >
  • FMC BEZIER SPLINE SIDECUT
  • 22° SLANTED ABS SIDEWALLS
  • EXTRUDED BA 4.4 DURASPEED BASE
  • SHRED READY

I bought last year’s (2008) model but I suppose the features have not changed dramatically. I have no idea what most of those things mean, but I like SHRED READY.
