That&#8217;s not really new. However it was new to me that Portugal has a skiing region. It&#8217;s located in the <a data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Torre_(Serra_da_Estrela)\" href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Torre_(Serra_da_Estrela)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Serra da Estrela<\/a>. But due to less snow and warmer winters skiing is in decline and lifts are closing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"439\" src=\"https:\/\/lisas.de\/~hauser\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-371\" style=\"width:600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>There is also an active lift which in summer is used by hikers. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"449\" src=\"https:\/\/lisas.de\/~hauser\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-370\" style=\"width:600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>And there is political change. The radar towers are remnants of the Cold War.
