The first version of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"cancombase (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/s17automated\/cancombase\" target=\"_blank\">cancombase<\/a> is finsihed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 5&#215;10 cm pcb fits behind the switches in a double plug socket. The 4 pairs in the CAT cable will be used in the following way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Connect switch 1 to the miniserver and the backuo system (a post will follow)<\/li><li>Power supply 24V (the selected switches need the 24V and I have decided &#8211; since I don&#8217;t know better &#8211; that a buck is easier than a boost)<\/li><li>+ 4. CAN (Since CAN bus does not allow a star topology it&#8217;ll be a long bus with a baud rate of around 100kBaud. Of course this has to be checked after installation. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CAN_bus#Data_transmission\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a> indicates that 125 kbit\/s allow up to 500 meters of cable. A rough calculation )<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>A description of the PCB is available <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/s17automated\/cancombase\/blob\/master\/README.md\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. It&#8217;s based on the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"arduino pro mini (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/store.arduino.cc\/usa\/arduino-pro-mini\" target=\"_blank\">arduino pro mini<\/a>. Or an available clone of it.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gap between the now introduced CAN and the loxone miniserver will be filled (most probably) with  a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"rasperry pi (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">rasperry pi<\/a> that converts the CAN messages to UDP messages the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"miniserver using UDP (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loxone.com\/enen\/kb\/communication-with-udp\/\" target=\"_blank\">miniserver is able to read<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from reading switch states (maybe with double-click detection) and writing to feedback LEDs the next version of cancombase will also contain a temperature sensor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the help of Jonas as reviewer I&#8217;m one step closer to the solution that was missing in Switch selection.
